Yogi takes on his former Bairns
It would take a few strange results to take place but Hibs could end up top of the league on Saturday night.
This is unlikely to happen but you would say that Hibs are the top three team that is most likely to win their match on Saturday. This is when things get interesting for Hibs.
No one will say anything but good and positive things about Hibs start to the season but with the poor quality of Celtic and Rangers should they be settling for hanging on in there?
Boss Yogi Hughes is a clever man, he wont be saying anything publicly but the Hibs players must be thinking they can match the big two this year.
They took a point from Ibrox and lost narrowly to Celtic at Easter Road when the Bumblebees dug in and Artur Boruc pulled out one of the saves of the season. Motivation is not a problem for Hibs players against the big teams.
Hibs struggle in the games they are favourites in.
John Hughes was candid enough to admit this, stating:
“One or two teams think we’re a scalp, resulting in them getting stuck into us.”
Make no mistake, Falkirk will be getting stuck into Hibs on Saturday.
Falkirk will be travelling to the capital in fine spirits, a draw against Celtic and a win over Hamilton Academicals lifting the gloom over the club. The injury list that has blighted them recently still exists but the confidence of a victory changes a club.
Doubts still exist over Eddie May but with a promise that there will be cash to spend in the January transfer window, there is nothing to suggest Falkirk are no worse a bet for SPL safety than many other teams.
Hibs could be able to bring back Sol Bamba and Mourane Zemamma to their squad whilst Kevin McBride will be given every opportunity to recover from an ankle knock.
Falkirk may be able to add Alex McDonald to their squad whilst recent acquisition Toufik Zerara will certainly be in the match day squad.
If Hibs want to be involved at the business end of the season, these are the games they have to pick up all three points.
