Best wishes to Rangers legend Brian Laudrup
Gers’ fans favourite Dane ready to battle lymphoma

Some of the guys behind the WeKnowSFA site have had more than enough of cancer in the past year but unfortunately, if you live in Scotland, it’s likely you will be touched by the horrible disease. It is reported that one in three people in Scotland are directly affected by cancer – which is a terrible statistic.
As you would expect with these odds, it affects the Scottish football community and people that mean a lot to the fans of all teams. Celtic fans, and the wider Scottish football community, rallied around ‘Big Bad’ John Hartson when his battle with cancer became news…and we expect the exact same reaction and support for Brian Laudrup.
It has been announced that Laudrup has been diagnosed with a mild form of lymphomaand needless to say, we wish him all the very best in his battle.
If you were a Rangers fan, it is likely that Brian Laudrup is one of your favourite players, which is no mean feat considering he played in a side that had more than its fair share of heroes. If you were an opposition fan, it was easy to accept that Laudrup was just different class.
It is easy to moan about Scottish football but in Brian Laudrup and Henrik Larsson, we have been lucky enough to have seen two players that could have graced any stage.
Rangers fans will easily recall the header at Tannadice that clinched 9 in a row or the way Laudrup would stand on the halfway line waiting for Brian O’Neill to fall allowing the Danish international a free run at the Celtic goal.
Important as Laudrups skills was, one of the key reasons he was such a popular figure was because he came across as a nice chap. Okay, he had a dangerous impact on Jim White but even fans of rival teams would have very little bad to say about the player. It was an era when Rangers players were as well known for their drinking exploits as their trophy success but Laudrup was never considered to be part of that bunch….and came across as a more wholesome character!
It turns out that he enjoyed a good drink and bonding session as much as most of the squad but for some reason, he was always deemed the golden boy.
Which is fair enough….as we said, best wishes to Brian Laudrup and his family at this trying time.

Best wishes Brian for a long happy and healthy future, you brought massive enjoyment to thousands of admirers.
Best wishes going out to Brian, seems cancer is getting far too familiar a word these days.
Very sad to hear this – best wishes for your recovery Brian! As a player he was the bane of my life in the 90s, but hard to dislike when he played the way he did – “pure, beautiful, inventive football” as someone once said in a different context….
Here here to all of the above.
All the best Brian. If any inspiration is needed on how to fight this killer look to Big Bad John.
Very sad news hopefully Brian can recover from this blow
Great player who was been a credit to the game
