<p><strong>A long time ago in a city quite near here</strong><span id="more-3420"></span><br />
<!-- Article Start --></p>
<p>It is a story that is familiar to all of those in Scotland. The battle between good and evil. Non fans talk of a dead franchise, limping along, trying to rake in money anyway they can. For believers, the notion of a higher power acting as a guide remains as captivating as ever. The bars that are frequented don&#8217;t seem the most inviting but they certainly contain everything you could ever want in atmosphere and colourful characters. </p>
<p>So&#8230;<strong>Celtic v Rangers or Star Wars, even we were getting confused by that paragraph&#8230;..</strong></p>
<p>You have probably seen some of the adidas / Star Wars tie-ups of late but it looks as though the ante has been upped with the German firm&#8217;s latest offerings.</p>
<p><em>And as it&#8217;s an international week with &#8220;<em>real</em>&#8221; football taking a back seat, what better time to look at them?</em></p>
<p><a href="http://weknowsfa.spreadshirt.co.uk/celtic-C140104" target="_blank"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/CelticWall.jpg" alt="WeKnowSFA - Celtic T-Shirts -Paddy McCourt, Jurez, Izaguirre, Majstorovic, Cha Du Ri" title="WeKnowSFA - Celtic T-Shirts -Paddy McCourt, Jurez, Izaguirre, Majstorovic, Cha Du Ri" width="450" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1316" /></a></p>
<p>The original Star Wars dates back to the 70s but the franchise hit its peak in the 80s with Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. <strong>It is therefore quite apt that these strips take their inspiration from some 80s kits.</strong></p>
<p>We find the sponsors a bit naff but the rest of the kit works well. <em>(pictures taken from <a href="http://www.footballshirtculture.com/10/11-kits/adidas-originals-x-star-wars-good-evil-football-shirts.html">Footballshirtculture</a>)</em></p>
<p><a href="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Jedi1.jpg?source=rss"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Jedi1.jpg" alt="Star Wars football" title="Star Wars" width="425" height="420" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3421" /></a></p>
<p>The light blue kit is the Rebel Alliance strip, using the same template as adidas used for strips worn at Euro 88. This design was used by the Dutch in lifting the trophy and also by the USSR, we also think the Germans had a green away strip using this template.</p>
<p>The Jedi strip will feature 7 Skywalker on the back.</p>
<p><a href="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Jedi2.jpg?source=rss"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Jedi2.jpg" alt="Star Wars football" title="Star Wars football" width="425" height="420" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3422" /></a></p>
<p>The Empire strip owes a debt to the empire built by Arrigo Sacchi at AC Milan. Sacchi did not create an evil empire but the era he created for Milan has cast a shadow over many AC Milan teams since.</p>
<p><a href="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Vader1.jpg?source=rss"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Vader1.jpg" alt="Star Wars football" title="Star Wars football" width="425" height="420" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3423" /></a></p>
<p><strong>This kit will come with 7 Vader on the back.</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Vader2.jpg?source=rss"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Vader2.jpg" alt="Star Wars football" title="Star Wars football" width="425" height="420" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3424" /></a></p>
<p>You&#8217;d have to take a healthy lead to the second leg in the Death Star if you wanted to be confident of progressing!</p>
<p><a href="http://weknowsfa.spreadshirt.co.uk/rangers-C140103" target="_blank"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/RangersWall.jpg" alt="WeKnowSFA - Glasgow Rangers T-Shirts - Weiss, Walter Smith will see you off, We Welcome The Chase" title="WeKnowSFA - Glasgow Rangers T-Shirts - Weiss, Walter Smith will see you off, Walter, We Welcome The Chase" width="450" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1316" /></a></p>
<p>With these 2 kits and the new Umbro New York Cosmos strip on sale soon, football fans may find it&#8217;s an expensive time ahead.</p>
<p><a href="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Cosmos.jpg?source=rss"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Cosmos.jpg" alt="Umbro New York Cosmos" title="Umbro New York Cosmos" width="425" height="400" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3425" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Or they may see Christmas as just around the corner&#8230;.</strong><br />

<p>Well, trawling the internet usually turns up something of interest and today we found this little number skulking about on a few pages.</p>
<p><a href="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Scotland1.jpg?source=rss"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Scotland1.jpg" alt="New Scotland away kit?" title="New Scotland away kit?" width="360" height="480" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2891" /></a></p>
<p>Yellow has been a regular colour in Scotland away kits so it is not as if this is a huge surprise if it turns out to be the away kit but what do you all think?</p>
<p>On first glance, it seems a bit bright but then again, is that a bad thing? It certainly seems to be the in thing with many kits these days and it will certainly add a splash of colour to proceedings.</p>
<p>No doubt it is the sort of top that will be worn in its thousands when the Tartan Army march on Spain&#8230;and who knows, maybe even Poland and the Ukraine.</p>
<p><a href="http://weknowsfa.spreadshirt.co.uk/scotland-C140102" target="_blank"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/WeKnowSFA_Tartan.png" alt="WeKnowSFA - Scotland - T-Shirts for Scotland Fans" title="WeKnowSFA - Scotland - T-Shirts for Scotland Fans" width="450" height="80" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1316" /></a> </p>
<p>The Scottish badge is fairly prominent in the main body of the strip, standing out <em>(in this picture)</em> more than the same badge in the current adidas home kit.</p>
<p>Oh well, the away kit has to be a change and this is certainly a lot more vivid than the home kit. We&#8217;re sure it&#8217;ll sell in its thousands and if it is worn when the team manage to pick up a few points on the road, it may just become a huge favourite!</p>
<p><strong>What choice of colour would you choose for the Scotland away kit?</strong></p>

<p><!-- Article Start --></p>
<p><strong>Remember way back when in March when the new Scotland kit was launched?</strong></p>
<p>Scotland made a winning start under Craig Levein and in their new Adidas international kit with a 1-0 home win over the Czech Republic thanks to Scott Brown’s goal. Let’s hope Scotland can achieve similar results when we face this opponent for real in the qualifying campaign.</p>
<p>Adidas are finally preparing the launch of the kit for the fans and it’s going to come at a time when the World is going football crazy. The only sad thing is that Scotland will not be gracing the football stage in South Africa this summer.</p>
<p><a href="http://weknowsfa.spreadshirt.co.uk/world-cup-C152357" target="_blank"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Ad1.jpg" alt="WeKnowSFA - World Cup T-Shirts - Anybody But England" title="WeKnowSFA - World Cup T-Shirts - Anybody But England"" width="450" height="300" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1316" /></a> </p>
<p><strong>The kit will be released on Thursday the 10th of June.</strong> This is the day before the World Cup kicks off so football fever will be reaching epidemic proportions. </p>
<p>It is also the day our friends at Cold Blooded Clarity are hosting a charity gig in aid of The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. More info about what should be a great night can be found <a href="http://coldbloodedclarity.co.uk/charity/ ">here</a>.</p>
<p>Returning to the Scotland kit, in one respect, this release of the kit is great timing, the school holidays are coming up and families that are lucky enough to be getting away will be looking to get kitted out for their trip. </p>
<p>Football strips are more expensive than any other tops you can buy for most children, the value for money from the amount of times they kit is worn makes it a strong purchase. That and the material used is conducive to spending time in the sun and warmth – so we agree with the timing of the kit in this regard.</p>
<p><strong>We just can’t help but think it will be lost a wee bit in the World Cup rush at the moment.</strong></p>
<p>A Kitbag catalogue dropped through WeKnowSFA Towers last week and the range of kits and products for the World Cup was fairly impressive. Not everything hit the spot but there were a lot of great tops and training kit. </p>
<p>Adidas and Scotland are competing against this market and the World Cup is going to be in everyone’s face for the next month and a half.</p>
<p><a href="http://weknowsfa.spreadshirt.co.uk/scotland-C140102" target="_blank"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/WeKnowSFA_Tartan.png" alt="WeKnowSFA - Scotland - T-Shirts for Scotland Fans" title="WeKnowSFA - Scotland - T-Shirts for Scotland Fans" width="450" height="80" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1316" /></a> </p>
<p>It’s a big ask but followers of the Scottish national team will be more than used to challenging the bigger guns and hoping for something to go right.</p>
<p>When you think the SFA and Adidas still have the change kit to come when the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign begins, they get to have two bites of the cherry…<strong>and it is this that probably justifies the early Summer release of the new Scotland top.</strong></p>
<p><em>10th of June is when you can get your hands on the new kit but pre-orders are being taken now.</em></p>

<p>Out with the Diadora and in with a brand that isn’t embarrassing to wear. The SFA deal with Adidas sees Scotland back amongst the major footballing brands, if not yet back amongst the major footballing nations.</p>
<p><a href="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Scotlandkit.jpg?source=rss"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Scotlandkit.jpg" alt="" title="" width="425" height="359" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1784" /></a></p>
<p>Fletch and Faddy look positively delighted to be wearing the new kit and this is the sort of new found optimism that we were hoping Craig Levein’s appointment would bring to the squad. There is no stopping us now.</p>
<p>That said, the shirt pretty much does what you would want from a Scotland kit, it keeps it simple and is likely to be a big hit when it officially goes on sale.</p>
<p>It will be worn at Hampden on Wednesday night when Scotland take on Euro 2012 qualifying rivals the Czech Republic in a friendly match.</p>
<p><a href="http://weknowsfa.spreadshirt.co.uk/scotland-C140102" target="_blank"><img src="http://footballsfootball.com/WeknowSFA/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/WeKnowSFA_Tartan.png" alt="WeKnowSFA - Scotland - T-Shirts for Scotland Fans" title="WeKnowSFA - Scotland - T-Shirts for Scotland Fans" width="450" height="80" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1316" /></a> </p>
<p><strong>Not only is it the debut of Adidas but it sees Craig Levein taking charge of his first Scotland team.</strong></p>
<p>Levein has been denied the services of Lee McCulloch who was injured by Kevin Thomson in the Rangers v Celtic match on Sunday. James McFadden also remains a doubt for the match with an injury but such is the life of an international football manager.</p>
<p><strong>Will you be buying the new Scotland adidas kit?</strong><br />
