St Johnstone still hoping to break Hearts
Two points behind, two games to overhaul it

Although not mathematically impossible, we are going to write off Aberdeen’s chances of making the top six. Mark McGhee can feel free to print this page off and pin it up on the Pittodrie dressing room wall to inspire his players but frankly, it’s not worth the bother is it?
This leaves Hearts and St Johnstone in the mix to make the top six.
The fixtures that matter in the top six split are:
Saturday 3rd April:
St Mirren v Hearts
Monday 5th April:
St Johnstone v Dundee United
Saturday 10th April:
Hearts v Kilmarnock
Sunday 11th April:
Aberdeen v St Johnstone
If Hearts win both their games, it doesn’t matter what St Johnstone do and you would have to say that the fixture list favours the Gorgie side. Games against two teams facing relegation are, again on paper, easier than a home match and a trip to Pittodrie but you just never know.
Hearts will be facing two teams desperate for points to beat the drop so the Jambo’s can’t take 6 points for granted.
And if they do slip up, St Johnstone will go into their last game knowing exactly what they have to do. St Johnstone fans should enjoy their win over Rangers but the players need to get back on the ground on Wednesday morning and focus on defeating Dundee United.
The Arabs are in action on Wednesday in a big match against Hibs but with the Tayside clash not taking place until Monday evening, there isn’t any great advantage for St Johnstone with respect to fitness.
At the moment, Hearts have the points advantage and the opportunity to pick up all six points but who would have predicted St Johnstone hitting Rangers for four this evening?
There is still a lot of football to be played, can Saints overhaul Hearts?
