Scottish football would survive without Celtic/Rangers it would just be worse of financially & a lot of clubs would probably have to go part time as they were up to the 80s.

samaras left midfield ? never in a million years, its borderline whether he is a striker let alone midfielder.
was it only 4 years ago we boasted lennon , lambert, thompson, petrov, sutton, in midfield. i cant name one player in current squad to lace their boots .

We weren't paying £25 a pop back in the eighties.

Mind you, I was getting lifted over back then - Hulk Hogan wouldnt be able to lift me nowadays :)

All in all, wasnt a bad game. Whether Falkirk will be allowed the same midfield space against St Johnstone or Hamilton as they were allowed against Celtic is another matter. Tony Mowbray's insistence of two wide men (who were both really ineffectual) does his side no favours.

Then again, not many teams (an understatement coming up here) have a finisher like Robbie Keane to take they chances so it's all to play for at Falkirk.

The pitch is bad but we have just had the worst winter for 30 years in the central belt area. Jim Dawson has won best groundsman twice in recent years and I think was third in the uk wide ranks not so long ago too. You guys are big softies, just look at the pitches back in the 80s and yesterday's is like a bowling green in comparison!!!!!

I enjoyed the game and thought The Bairns looked pretty decent apart from our usual lack of a goal scorer. Big Show had a great chance at the end of the first half which he sclaffed and despite his height he looks like he'll never score from a header. Boruc made a great save from a Ryan Flynn overhead kick too and Lima had a great chance 2nd half but he never scores.

The reality for us now is the next lot of fixtures. We need to start winning some games now that we've played all the top 4 or 5 teams except Hibs who with dunderheid in charge are always going to implode sometime soon.

If it wasn't for the blind loyalty/faith (take your pick based on your persuasion) Scottish Football would be dead in the water.

Who want's to pay £25 to go to souless grounds like Falkirk and Hamilton with big open spaces (missing stands) and then be faced with a tattie field to play in. We really are not helping ourselves retain the Sky/ESPN deal are we?

Throw in the recent St Johnstone postponement and the TV execs must be wondering why they bother.

PS - Just over 2,000 at the Hamilton Aberdeen game on Saturday. Scottish football would survive without Rangers and Celtic, go and lie in a soft walled and darkened room if that's your opinion.

Fans are paying a lot more now than what they were paying ten years ago and the quality is a lot less.

Clubs have realised this and have frozen season book prices wherever possible but there is a diminishing quality of the squads in the top flight.

Whether that is just the way it has to be and we have to manage expectations, who knows...it does tend to be cyclical - lets just hope the new wave of youth and cannier spending can bring in a lot of talented yet aspirational players.

Even if the SPL improved its image and made itself out to be a reasonable stepping stone for players, it wouldnt be a bad thing.

Definitely agree Celtic Mikey.

Is it any wonder some fans are turning away from the game when they are being charged £25 to see a surface like that - it is obviously going to impact on the match. Not good at all.

Also agreed with the refs - however, they were probably running out of coloured kits they could wear.

What are the colours available?
Black - it clashes with the dark Falkirk kit.
Blue - again, clashing with Falkirk kit
Neon yellow - clashes with the Celtic kit
Green - no wait, that refereeing kit does not exist
Red - clashes with Falkirk goalie top....but clashing with one player is better than clashing with 11....so the lesser of two evils.

i paid £25 to watch that match i darent call it football , the goals were well taken but the grass on the publc areas outside the ground was flatter and would have made for a better game. scottish footie is in a right state. today was not n value for money and only in scotland could you have the home keeper wearing exactly the same colour football kit as the match officials. having said that i thought the referee made some good saves.
