Rangers are starting fast at Ibrox
Early goals are the norm

Kris Boyd opened the scoring in Rangers 3-0 win over St Johnstone in around 30 seconds but it shouldn’t have been a surprise. Rangers have played 8 home games in the SPL this season and have found the net early on in 7 of them.
Aberdeen were the only team who managed to keep Rangers at bay for the first twenty minutes and the Dons then went on to shut them out for the rest of the game. The table below shows how early Rangers have been striking this season:

The current form shows that Kris Boyd is in blistering form, twice scoring in the first minute in the last four home games. The other two games in that run had Rangers fans waiting for the 7th and 8th minute to see their opposition’s net breached.
Rangers are clearly being sent out with an intention of getting off the mark early but you have to wonder what the opposition teams are doing? No doubt the tactics and game plan will be set up to try and avoid an early goal but it isn’t working at the moment.
Rangers are at their most dangerous when teams have to open up against them so the drive to get an early goal suits them perfectly. When Rangers fall behind and have to open up and chase the game, they look far more vulnerable.
All of this means that Rangers fans need to get along to Ibrox in time for kick-off to make sure they see all the goals.
