Petrescu to rescue Scotland

by WeKnowSFA

Romanian the answer for Scotland?

News that the man with no surname…or the same surname as Gordon at the SFA will be operating without a contract from January will no doubt lead to further speculation about who will be the next Scotland boss.

There is no great rush for a new Scotland boss.

There is a friendly game before the summer where the SFA will need to punt tickets for but will a new man in charge ensure this will happen? Unless it was a box-office name, it wouldn’t have a massive impact so it is better for Scotland to get the right man as opposed to the right now man.

Crikey, has WeKnowSFA turned into Sex And The City?

Let’s hope not but there is a major TV link to one of the candidates for the Scottish job. Yes, Craig Levein does more than his fair share of TV and Radio punditry but his media CV holds nothing compared to Dan Petrescu.

First of all, he had his own vet show where he and Rolf Harris battled to save the lives of ill animals. After that, he branched out into the world of American Television where he and his intrepid partner worked hand in hand to save unexplained mysteries.

This is the sort of experience that could be very advantageous for a Scottish manager and if he needs some guidance, perhaps the following image should be a hint for a new management team in charge of Scotland.

Of course, that’s all a joke, playing on the mans name and a likeness to David Duchovny but Petrescu has a few things in his favour.

For starters, he has won more European games at Ibrox than Walter Smith this season.

He has knowledge of the British game from his time with Chelsea.

He will be without any SPL baggage.

He is an up and coming manager.

And of course, he did this:

Thanks to DacoGetia

None of these things alone are a reason to employ him but equally, are they any worse than the reasons being cited for Jeffries or dare we say it, Levein? Levein has certainly never dismantled Rangers in such a manner, although the re-arranged Tannadice game in a few weeks gives him another opportunity.

WeKnowSFA were going to get a quote from Chick Young about Petrescu but it was decided to choose someone with a greater level of knowledge about Scottish football, so Cerys Matthews, formerly of Catatonia, said;

“Things are getting strange I’m starting to worry…
This could be a case for Danny Petrescu”

Would Petrescu be a reasonable shout for Scotland manager?
