Motherwell leapfrog Hibs in European race
Edinburgh win dismays all Edinburgh clubs

Things have been a bit grim for Motherwell of late with four defeats on the spin. This came after a lengthy of run of success under Craig Brown so it is not as if the Motherwell fans were getting angry with their manager but football fans want to win.
A 2-0 triumph at Tynecastle put them 7 points ahead of the Gorgie club with 9 points left to play for, so it means Motherwell can probably safely say they will be a top 5 club this season. And once you achieve that, why stop there?
Hibs have a game in hand over Motherwell but that is at home to Champions elect Rangers tomorrow so Motherwell may retain their fourth spot at the end of this weekend. This sees the two sides in a close contest over the final three games of the season.
On Saturday 1st of May, Motherwell travel to Celtic Park for that controversial third trip to the East End of Glasgow this season but on the same day, Hibs welcome Hearts to Easter Road for the final Edinburgh derby of the season.
Both matches will be tricky affairs which sets up the clash between Motherwell and Hibs at Fir Park on Wednesday 5th of May.
Motherwell grabbed all three points with two first half goals and it is not an exaggeration to say the Steelmen were worthy of all three points and possibly a bigger winning margin. The fact that Jim Jefferies, made all three subs at half-time indicates a great deal of unhappiness and also indicates the level of domination Motherwell had in the match.
With three games left for Motherwell, there is no reason why the Claret and Amber boys cannot clinch fourth place and a trip back to Europe next season.
Can the ‘Well grab the fourth spot?
