McGhee in another spat with Aberdeen fans
Long suffering fans must be feeling sick

A week is along time in the SPL and Aberdeen fans must be wishing it was 3pm Saturday 13th of February rather than what has transpired since then. The nature of the comeback against Celtic justified the exhuberant celebrations but there was an element of small club mentality by how the fans and players reacted.
This idea that Aberdeen have a small club mentality has been reinforced with the two results they have had this week.
Being knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Raith Rovers and now losing to SPL bottom club Falkirk suggests Aberdeen are a way off being a decent side.
The dandy Dons are now two points off the top six and the relationship between the fans and clubs is probably as strained as it has been.
Aberdeen got off to a flying start when a Charlie Mulgrew freekick was allowed to snake its way into the net but the home side rallied and were ahead before half-time. Showunmi grabbed the third in the second half topping off what has been a disastrous few days for Aberdeen.
McGhee has been defensive of his players but the Raith defeat was a watershed for the manager. In his own words, his players had set them and him up for the abuse and the performance and result at the Falkirk Stadium won’t have helped to mend any bridges.
Next weekend, Aberdeen have a home match against Hearts and if the Jambos can take anything from that then McGhee’s jacket may well start to look rather shaky. The Dons are only two points ahead of St Johnstone, who have a few games in hand, and three ahead of Kilmarnock, managed by former boss Jimmy Calderwood.
If ex-boss Calderwood can get above the Dons in the SPL, the anger of the Aberdeen fans may start to reach a peak.
Will Aberdeen get out of their rut?
