After a beautiful start to their relationship when the player impressed all and sundry at Tynecastle, Laryea Kingston has been the dictionary definition of a man working his ticket.

The Ghanaian midfielder has only appeared five times for his club this season and according to Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo, he won’t be appearing again for the foreseeable future. The Tynecastle top-man said;

“Larry told me yesterday that he will be injured for the next six or seven weeks.”

“I don’t know if he will go away with Ghana, this is a decision for Ghana’s football federation.”

Kingston was always likely to be missing for most of January because of the African Cup of Nations but it is an injury that has caused the damage.

Kingston yet again was on the receiving end of jeers at Tynecastle at the weekend as the player limped off before the end of the game. Hearts had used all three subs as they looked for a way to break the deadlock against Dundee United when Kingston picked up his injury. His refusal to play on was not appreciated from the home terraces and the division between club and players grew wider.

Hearts players will be delighted that Celtic are the visitors to Tynecastle this weekend as the appearance of the Glasgow bhoys is sure to unite the crowd in their hatred of the away team and support.

Hearts will have to face Celtic without Kingston but given the paucity of appearances this season; this is unlikely to have a negative effect on the Hearts line-up.

Hearts fans, will you miss Kingston against Celtic?
