Kenny Miller drives a ref to swear

Moaner Miller causes Brines to crack

WeKnowSFA - Glasgow Rangers

Kenny Miller eh?

At times, he is akin to a plastic bag on a motorway, at others, he scores the type of goal that most forwards can only dream of. Sadly for him and the fans of the club he is at, there is usually nothing in between.

That said, at the moment, Miller is definitely in a good run of form. Two goals in three matches in a row has seen him rocket up the SPL scoring charts and Miller has been a key player in Rangers good run of form.

It doesn’t make him happy though.

No, Kenny Miller is one of life’s biggest moaners and he never seems to be happy unless he is giving someone abuse.

In the first half against Hibs, Miller was involved in a challenge in the Hibs box, which unsurprisingly, left the Rangers striker demanding a penalty kick. It was certainly a full-blooded challenge but the ball did appear to be played before Miller.

In that respect, it seems that the decision to not award Rangers a penalty was the right decision.

Rangers fans will disagree but there is no arguing with some people.

And one of they people is the referee. Ian Brines, a rather officious man both in his SFA duties and his Strathclyde Police employment, is not the type of man who likes being talked to…after all, he probably didn’t get much respect or authority growing up, so he is going to demand it now.

Television footage clearly showed him swearing at Miller and telling him to get on with game.

In the greater scheme of things, is it that bad? Industrial language is part and parcel of the game surely?

However, if referees have the ability to book and send-off players when they use offensive language at them, then yes, the referees should be equally accountable.

This situation has arisen before when former referee Stuart Dougal was fined £200 after television cameras caught him swearing at Christian Nerlinger, also of Rangers. It is likely that a similar punishment will await Ian Brines.

The good thing is, it will give Stuart Dougal an easy topic to write about in his next paid for newspaper column.

Kenny Miller or Ian Brines, who makes you swear more?
