Karbon footprint a worry for Rangers and Celtic
Club developing a reputation
The full story about Alan McGregor’s weekend hasn’t came out yet and probably never will but it is well known that the player was in Karbon before things started going downhill.
Earlier this month, Darren O’Dea found himself in a tricky situation in Karbon when he was threatened with a knee-capping.
The tabloid reports suggest that the Celtic stopper wasn’t up to anything untoward on that occasion but was threatened anyway.
And previously, Aiden McGeady suffered at the hands of some thugs after an evening in the club as well.
When it keeps happening, you have to wonder why they keep going back but let’s be honest, its not really Karbon that is at fault (as much as we would like to say it was), it appears there would be trouble wherever these players went.
Bamboo was the previous popular haunt and a few unsavoury incidents happened there too.
They are young lads making a lot of money and find girls throwing themselves at them, we aren’t going to say they should stay at home when they have time off.
Heck, how many people missed work on Monday morning because they overdid the weekend’s activities or got in a fight or had relationship issues? We don’t have exact figures but you know it will be a high number; the only difference is that players are in the public eye.
Some people think that footballers should be role models, we don’t but you have to wonder what enjoyment they get from it. There comes a time when you’d always be looking over your shoulder or you would have your guard up so high that you cannot relax. It would defeat the purpose of going out in the first place!
Every era of footballers has had the boys that like a drink and a good night out but nowadays, it seems as though these attacks are becoming more commonplace. Perhaps they just weren’t reported as much as they are now be and of course, society seems a bit more crazy than it used to be .
Of course, they really should stop going to Karbon. Not because of the threat of violence but because it is pretty rubbish. Have you heard the music in there?
Maybe we’re getting old, maybe we know we can’t compete with footballers and gangsters but when it comes to a night out, we like the music and drink to play a part. And thankfully in Glasgow, you are not stuck for choice making sure you can get the type of night out you want!
You know that some players will be in the mood for a celebration on Sunday night, you just have to hope they get the chance to enjoy themselves freely!
Where’s your late night club of choice in Glasgow?
EDIT: Because using “spoiled” rather than “stuck” gives that sentence a whole different meaning – sorry, we’re just out of Karbon!

Glasgow is the sick city, the religion thing is one aspect, throw in the gangs from the outlying areas and your never two steps away from a slashing in my opinion.
Those with money to burn and a short career would be well advised to steer well away from such haunts, sadly many of them have more bentleys than brain cells.
Quagmire…
I have been drinking and clubbing in Glasgow for over 20 years now an to be honest I’ve never had a bit of trouble, it’s all about where you go and the attitude you carry.
As the article points out Glasgow has got hundreds of venues and is a great city but as usual a very small minority is giving it a bad name again.
Fair enough Dub, being a Weegie, you will know better than I of the nightlife and it’s positives, so perhaps I have been harsh.
Personally I have always felt safe in Edinburgh where there always appears to be a multi cultural feel about the place and the burds are nicer as well!!!
Mind you the ones that I refer to were charging me a tenner a dance the last time i was there!!!
Dont think Glasgows solely the problem although i agree with Quagmire about his Edinburgh comments.IMHO we now live in a time where any news is big people seem to be dying to know what players TV stars ect are up to, just look @ the headlines regarding Terry/Woods FFS big deal they had sex with a woman is it really any of our business????????
