Hibs stutter as their title credentials are challenged
Can Hibs keep up the fight?

If Celtic or Rangers were to draw at Rugby Park, eyebrows would be raised and questions would be asked over their title credentials. It is to Hibs credit that many people are taking their draw in Ayrshire as a shock and are thinking about the teams long term chances this season.
Hibs boss John Hughes has always been keen to play down the title chances of his team and results like this will probably make the difference at the end of the season. Hibs deserve credit for battling back from a goal down but were unable to complete the turnaround.
Derek Riordan nearly won the game at the death when his volley crashed into the bar but the points were shared.
Not for the first time, Hibs goalkeeper Yves Ma-Kalambey looked to be at fault for the goal but debate rages over whether the goalkeeper was fouled. Mark Burchill didn’t hang about and stuck the ball home before any arguments could be raised.
This could have been disastrous for Hibs but some equally quick thinking from Colin Nish and Anthony Stokes saw the Hibees back on level terms.
For all that Hughes may have a feeling of disappointment about two dropped points but on the whole, Hibs are still riding high;
“I thought we did enough to have possibly sneaked it but we didn’t create enough chances.
“I think the four front players are playing as individuals and when they start combining and working with each other, we’ll be better for it.
“They just have to trust and respect each other.
“I just feel they all want to score the goals, when it’s all about the team.”
Will Hibs stay in the race?
