Hernia injuries hamper Celtic and Rangers

by WeKnowSFA

McDonald and Boyd both out injured

Both clubs have a striker who has been under the spotlight of transfer speculation in recent weeks.

Both strikers would be politely described as carrying a few pounds compared to their team-mates.

Both players are the most likely to get the goals that win the points.

There is surely no doubt that Rangers will miss Kris Boyd the most.

The striker has always been liable to get goals for Rangers but this season he has grabbed a lot of goals and added some work-rate. The fact that Boyd appears highly in the assists table for SPL goals is an indication of the fact he has added something to his game.

Therefore, Rangers will no doubt be struggling without him and a lot of their hopes for this season will depend on how quickly he gets back in the first team.

The next few weeks may give Rangers a hint at what life could be without the Ayrshire striker and could strengthen the club’s desire to keep him.

Across in the East-End, it is a fairly similar story.

Celtic have announced that Scott McDonald requires an operation which will take place in Germany.

Celtic have announced that they do not expect the striker to be out for more than a few weeks.

This will put increased pressure on Georgios Samaras and Marc-Antoine Fortune to get the goals to keep Celtic in the title race.

There is going to be a lot of games in the next few weeks and the outcome of them could have a pivotal influence on the title race.

Which team will fare best without their striker?

I smell a rat where Boyd is concerned, this is another dignified move by the Cardigan, feign injury, that’ll keep him,you watch his miraculous recovery when the window shuts,or maybe their selling off kidneys to pay their debts.

  • Celtic will fare better seeing we may buy a new striker and be have 2 decent ones fit unlike Rangers who can’t buy new players and Boyd and Miller work well TOGETHER, without Boyd they may hand the lead back to celtic!

    Thanks Daniel.

It will certainly be a test for Kenny Miller, he has been getting the goals of late but as you say, that is working in tandem with Boyd.

It may well be that Kyle Lafferty moves up front for Rangers…and to be fair, he is a really good player, he drives a Bentley.
