Hell Freezes Over – Eagles for Rangers?

by WeKnowSFA

EPL experienced player Ibrox bound?

WeKnowSFA - Glasgow Rangers

We must admit, we aren’t the biggest fans of The Eagles, which is kinda surprising because the WeKnowSFA team loves a bit of country rock. It is fair to say that they had some good tunes but the whole ripping off the soul and sound of Gram Parsons and adding a huge dollop of sugar on top to make their hits leave us a bit cold.

We love this cover version though…

You may be wondering what this has got to do with a football site but to those people moaning we say Take It Easy.

Rangers have swooped to bring Chris Eagles up to Ibrox for a look-around and they may be on the verge of bringing the player to Ibrox. We aren’t sure if the move is On The Border of completion but Eagles could well be the first New Kid In Town for the Scottish champions this summer.

Okay, can we stop the song titles now, we’re beginning to look a bit desperado!

Chris Eagles is a product of the Manchester United youth squad but like so many before him, failed to make the grade at Old Trafford. This is no indication of failure and some of the players performances for Burnley last season indicated he has talent and still has some potential in the game.

As well as time spent with Macnhester United and Burnley, Eagles has played for Watford, Sheffield Wednesday and NEC Nijmegen in Holland. Eagles has never been a regular scorer in his career so far, a reported 9 goals in 77 games but as a winger, his job is to be creative.

WeKnowSFA - Rangers T-Shirts

Walter Smith has already indicated that bringing in wide players is important for Rangers with the loss of Nacho Novo and DaMarcus Beasley affecting the club in these areas. Eagles may well be a key component for Rangers who have relied on their wide players to create the chances for their strikers.

Rangers fans, do you think Eagles would be a good purchase?

  • yes – he is a flyer and his dead ball skils are great – also that means Davis can be pushed into the middle with Edu or Fleck or whoever else walter has up his sleeve !

  • seany bhoy

wont happen, hes away home without signing lmao maybe sandy jardine talked him out of it lmao

  • WeKnowSFA

That could be true Seany (well, we wont comment on Sandy Jardine talking him out of the move) but don’t forget that Joe Ledley hightailed it back to Cardiff without supposedly putting pen to paper.

He’s currently in America waiting to make his Celtic debut.

  • alex

    chris who?

  • 9 goals in 77 games, does this guy hang around with lafferty? a guy who couldnt hack it at the top and is coming down the ladder, only hes coming down much faster if he comes to castle greyskull

  • I think Eagles was a little under par last season.

  • seany bhoy

jon, burnley to rangers is hardly down the ladder, its a wonderful step up for him and hes not a striker his job is not to score goals its to supply chances for others to take them!! doh!!! rumours abound hes off to bolton ro sunderland anyway haha chris mke no mistake if he signs for one of the old firm we will know who he is soon enough!!

owen coyle going to trump rangers again after flogging them lafferty, looks like hes going to take eagles too after rangers doing the donkey work!! ha ha he is deinetaly celtic manager material, your welcome up here any day coyle! haha now for that 10million your going to give us for aiden, just when your ready mate

  • trueblue

10million for aidy thats a joke and u seem to forget who won the title past two seasons being skint but you lot like to sweep thinks under the carpet just think your in the position buying and selling and look what happened last yr lol

  • Wife Beating Lobe Eating Rapist supports Glasgow Rangers

In another blow to the battered and bruised image of Glasgow Rangers the wife beating lobe eating rapist former heavy weight champion of the world Mike Tyson show his support to the teddy bears by wearing the new Rugby top released by JJB sports.

  • Quagmire

Been crying out for a decent winger for the past two seasons, whether Eagles fits the ‘bill’ remains to be seen.

I’ll say one thing though, with all the upheaval at Ibrox for the third year running, surely Celtic must be favourites for the title again?

FAO Jon Bags – Castle Greyskull is actually the home of the good guy’s, if you were trying to be smart you would have been better versed in using ‘Snake Mountain’

Dubs – Is that picture for real?

All thats left is for Max to come on and cheer us all up

Ranjurs, Huns, skint, Ranjurs, fighting, Huns yadda yadda yadda

  • Quagmire… not sure if the image is real. It was posted on the Scottish Football Forum

    http://www.scottishfootballforums.co.uk/

What with the wife beating Gazza grabbing all the headlines recently, maybe Mike Tyson is wanting his biggest loon ball on the planet.crown back.

  • WeKnowSFA

The picture was also in today’s bumper edition of the Metro – fantastic value at 0p a day.

Not a great celebrity endorsement but no doubt Iron Mike remains a hero to some.

  • Quagmire

Get him signed, could be the striker we’re looking for!

  • Joe

LOL Quagmire, He may be a bit more mobile than Boyd even now.

  • Joe

To be honest though, both Celtic and Rangers look like being used by some players to raise their profile and try and make a move in the Premiership. Joe Ledley excepted, I doubt Campbull, Bullard or Eagles will move to Scotland.

  • Tyson would be a good sparring partner for the Eggman, Kirk has been known to like a bit of bare knuckle street fighting in his time.

Did the outcome of Kirk’s second assault charge ever get announced?

  • Quagmire

Aye, there’s a rematch at playtime. I’m taking bets if your interested!

  • max

Glad to see you’ve finally crawled out from under whatever stone it is you dwell under Quackers!!
Still awaiting YOUR answer to the questions put to you, but you obviously have absolutely no mind of your own hunboy!!

Answer the questions hunboy, IN YOUR OWN WORDS!
I wont be holding my breath!
    LOL!!
    At least try FFS!!

  • Quagmire

Does writing in big letters make you feel important Max?

I’ve more than stated my case regarding your sectarian insults and promise you that this will be the last time I engage with you on this board.

I’ll stick to speaking to those who can see by the end of their nose.

  • The Latest crazy Rangers rumour going round…. Rangers in a bid to take Jimmy Bullard to Ibrox.

Not sure how this would fit in with the wage structure at Ibrox.

Jimmy Bullard - Could he be about to move to Glasgow Rangers

  • Quagmire

Been reading that Dub’s. The amount of shite in the papers and websites in the close season is at times, unbearable.

  • WeKnowSFA

Cheers Quagmire, we do our best….

  • max

    Nice get out Quacky.
    Nothing there then?
    No?
    JUST AS I THOUGHT!
    PMSL
Please tell me what sectarian insults I’ve posted.
The only person who spouts sectarian bile here is yourself, even to the extent of telling me what I think , re-Orange B….!
    No one else does.
I’ll await your forst original thought with bated breath …NOT!!
I would really like to see someone seeing “by the end of their nose” lol!
Still evading the questions I see.
But seriously, I’d be really interested to know, what I’ve posted that you deem ‘sectarian’.

  • max

NEC Nijmegen are somewhere near the bottom of the Eredevisie in Holland (which is not a good league and hasn’t been for some time), if they don’t want to retain this guys services……?
But hey! ranjurs have to produce a full squad from somewhere!

  • max

Ps. I know from experience that the NEC support all love the TIC.
    HAIL! HAIL! NEC

  • jazrfc

all of them ,every single one lol il be glad when the schools go back mad max .

  • max

And what personal experience of NEC supporters do you have jaz?
Still think you can win an argument by personnal insults I see!
    Who’s being childish now?

  • max

It’s very much the same with Feyenoord, they give a good rendition of YNWA, and Celtic tops can be seen every home game in R’dam.
The Celts are always wlcome there.
Much the same can be said of the Villereal support who have a CSC within their own support after a visit from Celtic supporters, unlike ranjurs supporters who they consider as scum following a visit from ‘Scotlands Shame’ throwing bricks throw their team bus widow!
Similarly the Mayor of Seville had a full page in the Glasgow Evening Times, congratulating the Celtic support for their great atmosphere and welcoming us back, whether on holiday or for a football game.
The same can be said of the Barcelona city officials, who are more than willing to have a good bond with our club.
We have a good rep where ever we go and are always welcomed back.
As for the HUN support (just for you quacky) shamed in Romania for racist chants against Gypsies, Nazi salutes in Israel, Ossasuna, Birmingham, the MURDEROUS SHAME of Manchester, and what the Spanish press described as “UNDESIRABLES”, “THUGS”, “LOWLIFE DRUNKARDS”, and an “EMBARRASSMENT TO THEIR COUNTRY AND THE SPORT ITSELF”, even going as far as requesting “YOU STAY AT HOME AND URINATE IN THE CORNER OF YOUR OWN LIVINGROOM, they also said that Celtic deserved a medal for puting up with you!
If you want more just let me know, LOL!

  • jazrfc

your safe this year maxi my bhoy cause your going nowhere . well inverness is quite far .

  • max

The only place I know where you never cause any MAJOR problems was infact in R’dam!
A good Feyenoord fan friend of mine, who incedentally was wearing a Celtic top when they played you a few years ago, said that when faced with a decent force of retaliation, SHAT A BRICK, and went out the city with a cower and a whimper!!LOL!!

  • max

As for European performances, I think I would rather Celtic were not involved if they were going to embarrass Scottish football the way the huns have in the past few seasons.
Scottish football have been made a laughing stock due to ranjurs European games!
You made the last 16 of the CL 1 time with the lowest points in the history of the competition and then were well and truly pumped out LOL!!
Way to go the ranjurs!! PMSL!!

  • jazrfc

maxi im stugging to come to terms that you have a good friend
and as for laughing stock [ross county ] pmsl now its getting late get your celtic jammies on and get to bed your mum will be in with your unce from the bingo shortly .

  • The Eagles has not Landed headline will be out in force tomorrow.

    http://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/page/LatestHeadlines/0,,10413~2092373,00.html?

Didn’t ever really look that realistic, why let Kris Boyd the SPL greatest ever goalscorer go due to a lack of funds but bring in a winger who would be looking for the equivalent money that Boyd is probably getting at Boro.

Rangers do need a wide man, probably have to look within the SPL. Anybody got any ideas who Rangers will go for?

Thank You

  • WeKnowSFA

Seany Bhoy, we just don’t have the time to delete the threads they way they’ve been going up in the past few days. Summer madness!!!!

As long as there are no over the top personal insults that people cant handle or stuff that goes too far we tend to plan on letting you all verbally batter each other into submission – consider us your lazy and not quite drunk stepdad….

  • LoyalBlue

seems Septic supporters…really are beginning to emerge from under the rocks, where they live….RANGERS, the Champions of Scotland even with no money will make 3-in-row. Better, hide again…losers..!!

  • Kevin Thomson has come to an agreement with Rangers and Middlesbrough and looks likely to seal his move to North East club on Friday after passing a medical earlier today.

Kevin Thomson looks dejected as he looks round Ibrox for the last time before heading south and joining up with the large Scottish contingent that Gordon Strachan has amassed in Middelsbrough

What do Rangers fans think of Thomson’s time at Ibrox, at one point he was being touted as the next captain. Injury has held him back do you think it was the right decision to cash in on him now.

  • Sorry for another post but I just loved this mad conspiracy theory that I had just seen on the KDS forum. This was posted by Sergeant Pluck

    A Conspiracy Theory;

    The story so far

    1. Celtic make no secret of the fact that we’re interested in Bullard. Fan reaction is broadly positive – some understandable concern over his fitness but most fans (here & on other boards at any rate) seem to agree that it would be a good move.

    2. The player comes up for a look round. Smiles & complimentary remarks all round, he has a day out at the golf & tells the media that his next step is to meet with officials at Hull to sort things out.

    3. Bullard’s meeting with Hull goes completely pear-shaped. Their Chairman, who clearly has a substantial financial interest in the matter is hyper-critical of the player’s attitude. Not only does he question Bullard’s integrity (“he strung everyone along”) but he makes the extraordinary claim that the player has demanded full wages from both clubs, amounting to an unbelivable £75K a week.

    4. When this is reported in the Scottish press the attitude of the Celtic support immediately switches to something along the lines of “GTF Bullard, ya greedy bassa.”

Now, what happens if we actually do reach agreement with Bullard & Hull to bring him here? His stock among the support is so low that it will take a charm offensive to win the fans over. How can Celtic and/or Bullard’s agent repair the damage to his reputation among the fans?

How about linking him with a move to Rangers? When he then tells them to stick their poxy offer up their debt-ridden fundaments & is instead pictured in the hoops holding a green & white scarf aloft all will be sweetness & light among the Celtic support again. Won’t it?

    Just a theory….

  • WeKnowSFA

    Duh Duh Duh……

you maybe need to get to your bed Dubby….

Join us next week on The SPL Twilight Zone when the true story of Chris Eagles chat with Rangers is revealed.

    Featuring:
Martin Bain and the pictures you thought you’d never see
Brian Laws and the Forbidden Mystery of the Nazi Gold
    and
what part did Keith Harris have to play in the failure of Rangers to capture their man.

    Till next time people…..

  • Don’t shoot the messenger, the butler did it.

Correct I should get to my bed, have a nice night everyone and remember it’s a jungle out there.

  • Quagmire

When Eagles stated that he needed time to think, the writing was on the wall. Let’s face it, even with Champions League Football on offer, the SPL is not going to attract decent EPL players who want to stay on the gray train in England. Celtic did well to get Keane for 6 months but let’s be honest, it was the Irish connection that made him come and he will be plying his trade next season at Wolves probably still on £65K per week. Back to Eagles and he will probably look at Bolton or stoke as an easier option, his choice.

We’ve lost the all time SPL top scorer and one of Scotlands most combative midfielders now to Middlesborough, who are at best a bottom half EPL team, currently in the second tier of the English and no direct certainties to win promotion either. Both players will be lifting circa £25/£30K per week and Scottish football simply can’t compete with that anymore. Yes Rangers financial issues are well documented, but in all honestly our game now needs to cut it’s cloth accordingly. Can Celtic honestly sustain their wage bill in this current climate with season ticket sales down and no guarantee of CL football? I’ve said it before, our game is being dumbed down further and further.

Dub as for Thomson, he always seemed to have a good game against Celtic. Particularly at Ibrox where he scored and also put Robbie Keane on his arse! It was certainly the better of the business when we got Thomson for £2M and Celtic got Brown for £4.5M. I’m sad to see him go as he was potentially a future Rangers captain and to only get back what we paid for him is also disappointing, especially since McManus went for £1.5M!! Rangers could well take a leaf from their rivals when it comes to negotiating on player sales.

I suppose the argument for his sale, is that he has had two cruciate injuries now and that can’t be good for the future, also he was now entering his final year and akin to Boyd, we could have been left with hee-haw.

David Murray has a lot to answer for and we appear to be stuck with him for the time being, I do fear that by the time we do get our act together again, the game in Scotland will be so bad that it won’t really matter anymore.

As for the Bullard story and the post above, the internet is full of weird stories and indeed weird people.

  • Official Middlesbrough site confirms that Kevin Thomson has joined the six other former Celtic and Rangers players decamped in the North East of England. Gordon Stachan’s plan to get the Old Firm into the Premiership through the back door takes another step forward, how long before we hear of bids for Samaras, Wilson and Bougherra.

    http://www.mfc.co.uk/articles/20100716/boro-sign-rangers-star-thomson-_70638_2093669

  • WeKnowSFA

    Mark or Danny Wilson?

Think a few Celtic fans would give Samaras a lift down if he needed it.

  • max

Well sean bhoy, the TIM (or does that offend you? LOL!!) perhaps you can shed light on what I’ve said that’s been bigoted?
Another hun apologist talking big from behind a keyboard, I’m sure quacky loves you for it, lol!
Maybe you can hold hands going to the next Celtic ranjurs game together!!

Eagles SNUBBED ranjurs because they reach an agreement on personal terms.
That means ranjurs couldn’t pay his wages the same as they wouldn’t pay Boydichenco any more than 18 thou!
I would put money on them not offering eagle any more than 8 grand a week! PMSL

  • max

You came out of left (or should that be right?) field there eh ‘SEAN’?
What happened did you think ‘Murphy bhoy’ might be to much of a give away? lol!
First post and your calling me a bigot for despising bigotry!!
    PMSL
    Quality!!
As for WKSFA allowing my posts, I would like to know if WKSFA find it acceptable for posters to insult each others mothers?
I don’t mind personal insults, it shows a real lack of wit and someone struggling in an argument, and real infantile playground stuff!
But don’t you think that insulting another posterts mother is a bit OTT?
But at the end of the day I don’t really expect any better from a hun, who I know from past experience that the depth of their SHAME knows no bounds!

  • max

    Ps. “OUR clubs support” PMSL!!!
    Nice touch!
    LOL!

  • Scooter

Delighted Eagles turned us down, he is brutal

  • Mark or Danny Wilson….. Both probably.

Strachan always spoke highly of Mark Wilson and wasn’t afraid to bring him back in for big games even when he wasn’t 100% fit.

As for Danny Wilson I think he’s quite happy to play out the last year of his contract at Rangers and move on for free next season. Would do him good to get a full season under his belt at Rangers before swanning off down south.

  • Quagmire

Don’t know too much about him Scooter, but you know football is goosed when a Man Utd reject plying his trade with Burnley on £8K per week, demands £18K per week (or thereabouts) to join Rangers in the SPL.

The beautiful game is making me feel sick at the way in which these players are raping us all with obscene financial demands.

  • Quagmire did you feel sick when Rangers paid the big bucks for the likes of Gazza, Laudrup & DeBooer or just now because Rangers are on outside with their noses pressed and against the footballing sweet shop down south.

  • Quagmire

No dub I didn’t as I was younger and it was just the way it was at that time. Having said that the quality of player you mention are certainly worth the going rate as opposed to some that are getting it.

You may think sour grapes is the order of the day, but it’s not I genuinely fear for the game going forward, particularly in the SPL.
