Hearts suffer red card appeal anger too
A day of not turning for the SFA

In one sense, it was always likely to be the case with two high profile sending offs up for review and appeal. The Scott Brown red card has obviously been talked about more but for Hearts fans, the real controversy over the weekend came at Pittodrie.
It didn’t affect Hearts too badly as they managed to win 1-0 with their one man deficit but the decision to uphold the red card given to Laryea Kingston has annoyed the Jambos.
If you haven’t seen the Kingston sending off, it can still be viewed here at the BBC site.
On first viewing it appears to be straight forward but on repeated viewings, it starts to become a lot more questionable and the rolling around of Fyvie looks debatable. Kingston will now be unavailable for the match against Dundee United this weekend.
With Hearts still in the mix for a place in the top six, Jim Jefferies would rather have all of his squad at his disposal, especially against a United side who are in a good run of form.
Yet again, the SFA disciplinary and appeals decision has angered fans with referees rarely willing to state that they made a mistake. Even an honest mistake is something too far for some refs to admit to, if only they would be a bit stronger in making correct decisions, the Scottish game might improve.
Of course, don’t expect idiots like Peat or Dallas to be found discussing these matters, they only come out when seriously provoked…..then again, it may not be too long!

It’s a shame that the red card hasn’t been overturned because it barely looked like a booking never mind a red card (and I say this as a Hibs fan). I’m pretty sure Fyvie has form for rolling around as I’m certain he did the same when Ian Murray gave him a hard but fair challenge back in November.
Cheers Duncan, it is certainly something that we’ll be keeping an eye out for with regards to Fyvie.
Players can very quickly develop an unwelcome reputation for this sort of thing, which could well affect them in the long run.
