Three wins on the spin for Jim Jefferies

Are Hearts a more potent threat when they go down to ten men?

They were drawing 0-0 at Ibrox when Nade was red-carded only to take the lead a minute or so later and the same has happened at Pittodrie. This time, they managed to see it out and claim all three points against Aberdeen.

This sees the Tynecastle side move 8 points clear of Aberdeen and now sit a point behind Motherwell, who face Kilmarnock this afternoon. It has been a topsy turvy season for Hearts but in the past few games, Jefferies has settled the team and the 9 points they have picked up will have boosted the confidence.

Hearts have got 6 games before the split and the next two are tussles against the teams directly above them.

Sunday 7th of March sees the Jambos travel to Tannadice and then the following Saturday they make the trip to Fir Park.

Two tricky away ties but Hearts wins would not be out of the question. Four points out of 6 would be an acceptable return but there will be no fear from Jefferies side.

Which is just as well because after this, they are due to play away again at Easter Road against rivals Hibs and then they have a home match versus Rangers. That is a run of fixtures that no one would relish so it is maybe not as cut and dried for Hearts as they may think at the moment.

However, momentum can be important in football and if Hearts can maintain their winning form, they could even push into top four for the end of the season. And if they get there, they will have Hibs in their sights.

Given the way the season has went for Hearts, you would not be shocked if they now go on a losing run and end up bottom six but at the moment, things are looking up for the Jambos.

Jambos, how many points will you take from the next four games?
