Hearts on the march with Izale McLeod’s Army
Charlton striker to check in at Tynecastle?

Perhaps its just WeKnowSFA and our love of a cheap pun but surely it should be mandatory that a footballer called Izale McLeod should be forced to play for Scotland?
Ally McLeod was of course the man who united the nation.
Prior to the ’78 World Cup, he convinced the nation we were winning the World Cup.
By the end of June 1978, he had the nation convinced that he was a buffoon. He also probably regretted sending Willie Johnston to Boots to pick up the prescriptions.
History hasn’t always been kind to Ally McLeod but if anything, he was the archetypal Scottish football character. He aimed for the moon but ended the night lying in the gutter like the rest of us.
So much so that his name still resonates in Scottish football, so much that interest in a potential loan signing for Hearts is so much higher than what it would normally be.
The bad weather may have put the brakes on a visit to Edinburgh by the player but there is still a chance the player will come up after Christmas.
Hearts tried to buy the player in the summer but were unable to agree a price with the club but the player’s agent thinks that finances should not be a concern for any loan deal.
“The talking is pretty much standard because when you are on loan you just take over the contract and he is not on massive wages, so that side of it will be okay,”
Hearts may have managed to beat Celtic with only three shots on target but there is a definite need for extra striking reinforcements at Tynecastle and McLeod will offer a new option for Csaba Laszlo.
Although they beat Celtic, Hearts will continue to struggle against the lesser lights of the SPL though a lack of motivation and effort so an acquisition or two with something to prove could be great news for the Tynecastle hordes.
Jambos, are you ready to march with Izale’s Army?
