Falkirk level it at the foot of the SPL
Bring on the split is the Bairns cry

Knowing that defeat would have created a 6 point gap to pull back in 5 games, the pressure was all on Falkirk in their match versus St Mirren.
Steven Pressley has seen his team on the receiving end of a few goals on the brink of half-time but on this occasion, it was Falkirk who were heading into the dressing room in a jubilant mood.
Pedro Moutinho, so often the key man for the Bairns this season, was the man who broke the deadlock and changed the team-talks of both managers.
Darren Barr won’t be at Falkirk next season having signed a pre-contract agreement with Hearts but he said he would be doing his best to keep the club in the SPL. Grabbing the second goal of the game to give the bottom side a bit of breathing space is exactly the way to keep the Falkirk fans remembering his good work.
The result still sees Falkirk at the bottom of the SPL but entering the split, it is all level on points between St Mirren and Falkirk. When you add in the fact Kilmarnock are just one point ahead on 28, there is a massive three way fight in the battle against the drop.
Andy Dorman grabbed a late consolation goal which will aid the goal difference slightly but the three points were the important issue and the Bairns took them.
We are awaiting the fixtures for the post-split fixtures so who knows when these teams will be squaring but don’t be surprised if the SPL keeps the head to head games until the final weeks of the season.
