Dundee United fans: pre Hampden pictures
Arabs hit Hampden!

We headed along to Hampden to soak up some of the atmosphere and take in some of the colourful sights that would help make up a great day out at Hampden for the 2010 Active Nation Scottish Cup final.
The following look was a popular one for the men and women coming from the East (of Scotland) and these two lads were enjoying themselves before kick-off.
Even though it was a Cup final and both teams were desperate to win the game, there was a friendly atmosphere outside the match before the game and the next picture shows a couple of United lads mingling with Ross County representatives. Okay, a giant stag and a pretty blonde make it easier to pose with your rivals but it’s hard to imagine this sort of mingling between certain sets of fans in the Scottish game.
The following run of pictures sees the Tangerine Army heading to Hampden, so if you were coming up from Aikenhead Road around 1430, why not have a look and see if you can spot yourself?
You wonder how many of these fans will be waking up with a hangover on Sunday morning…or even how many will have made their bed by then? The 3-0 victory was certainly enough to convince any Tangerine boy or girl to make a night of it!
The United team and fans made four trips to Glasgow on their Cup run so they were probably getting used to the city, even if they would never admit it in public. They certainly helped turn a large part of the South-side and Glasgow city centre tangerine and black!
You know full well that we try and punt our range of merchandise (and we have loads of Dundee United Cup Winning merchandise in store) but we appreciate we aren’t the only ones. This stall was doing a roaring trade in Cup final gear for fans heading up to Hampden.
The United messageboards were awash with the message to wear tangerine at Hampden and you can see that the punters acquiesced with that idea. It certainly brightened up the stadium and surrounding areas and will hopefully have made a lasting impression on so many United fans, young and old.
It was the 125th Scottish Cup and it was also Dundee United’s centenary season. What better way for the Tayside club to celebrate it than by lifting the Scottish Cup and finishing in third place?

Is that pretty blonde not the girl that has been in The Sun a few times? I think she is going for Miss Scotland.
Craig, not being Sun readers, we can’t say…sorry!
She seemed a pleasant enough lassie – Miss Scotland material….who can say…not us if our choice in women is anything to go by
It was quite a good spirited atmosphere around Hampden pre-match.
It’s certainly the only time you will see that much orange (sorry, tangerine) around Toryglen way!
