Celtic’s Brown gives the SFA good news
Maybe they’ll rescind his red card?

The SFA made a big show of inviting all Grade One officials to Hampden for the debut game of the Craig Levein era, no doubt hoping to create a sense of unity behind the beleaguered refs and linesman.
Yes, its a strange one. Hugh Dallas has been critical of refs this season but then rewards them in this manner, we wish our bosses rewarded incompetence, it would make life a whole lot sweeter. Cos we’re fairly incompetent.
Anyways, there would have been a bit of embarrassment amongst the ref’s seats when Scotland took the lead. A great cross from Wallace was nodded back across goal by Barry Robson and Scott Brown was in the right place at the right time to fire the Scots into the lead.
It was changed days from Sunday when Brown was in the wrong place at the wrong time when Dougie McDonald deemed his clash with Kyle Lafferty deserving of a red card. Celtic fans will be hoping that this goal may encourage the SFA to look upon the players appeal with a bit more kindness.
Then again, is there point in trying to work out the SFA logic? Nope…anyways, back to Craig Levein.
There is obviously no guarantee about what will happen in the qualifying campaign but this victory will hopefully give the national team a confidence boost for the vital head to head matches against the Czech Republic.
The most startling thing was the fact that it was Scotland’s first friendly win at Hampden in 14 years. So for that reason alone, the Craig Levein era has got off to a great start.

Isn’t life so ironic at times?
Once more Brown put’s in a sterling shift in the Blue of Scotland, leaving Celtic fans wondering what’s going on that he can’t replicate that at club level? Probably down to the fact that he isn’t played in the same position, but never the less, it must still be a source of frustration. How good would’ve it been had he pre planned a celebration with Kenny Miller of sticking his head in his chest!!
Great result for Levein, even if Scotland were pulled all over the place for the best part of 70 minutes,. to secure a win in his first game and break the Hampden friendly hoodo will give him confidence, have to say I don’t like his system though, fine if we’re away from home or playing one of the top sides at home, but we should be sticking to a 4-4-2 in games at Hampden to try and entertain the public. That said it worked for McLeish and Smith (to a degree, still no qualification) and perhaps he just doesn’t want us being skelped by teams like Wales, though surely he can’t be as incompetent as Burley?
As I said, decent start and let’s see how the campaign goes when they reconvene later in the year.
Yes great result even though Scott Brown has played well for Scotland still think he is the most over rated player in Scotland would love to know what he did in his last season with Hibs to justify his signing & BTW i am more than paitent when it comes to rating players but this is now his 3rd season with Celtic should definetly be showing a lot more.
Nothing ironic at all, the change in formation and style of play is a huge difference to the way that Brown performs, always has been.
Genuinely get the feeling the best of Brown won’t be seen week-in, week-out again until he moves to a lower ranked EPL club who have to press and harry the game.
Sclaff of a finish but fully deserved for being a midfielder getting into such a great position in the box – another one or two against the Czechs for real would do nicely!
Yes ok he has played better for Scotland but he is still nothing to right home about IMHO.
just lost his appeal ,3 match ban starts sunday
He wont be missed.
