Celtic are not the Puri relation in Glasgow

by WeKnowSFA

Another trialist for the Hoops

Glasgow in December is quite commonly referred to as being “Baltic” by some of the locals but if that is the case, it won’t be a bad thing for Celtic’s new trialist.

South Korea signing Ki-Sung Yong has jetted in to Glasgow to put the seal on his £2m move but Tony Mowbray is running the rule over another player.

Sander Puri is a 21 year old Estonian winger or attacking midfielder. This may not be an area that many Celtic fans think should be the top priority but Mowbray clearly relies on width in his team.

Puri is currently plying his trade with FC Levadia Tallinn, where his twin brother Erin is also playing.

Puri has become a regular for the Estonian national team after making his debut in May 2008. He has scored twice for his country in less than twenty appearances.

It may have been the case that a big European night would sway any prospective player to want to play for the Parkhead club but tonight versus Hapoel Tel Aviv is unlikely to be one of those nights.

Celtic fans can provide you with a long list of trial players who were never signed by the club so they wont be getting overly excited just yet.

And they would much rather see a centre half or striker being lined up by the club.

However, Celtic are at least seen to be making the right moves in preparation for January. Whether they follow through with them is another matter.

Celtic fans, do you think Lawell will spend in January?

Thats the sort of cyicism we like to see Timmalloy.

Mind you, can you blame Celtic fans for thinking like this?

The memory of last January when strengthening in two key areas could have made all the difference in the title race, only Willo Flood came in.

Of course, the PLC Board will see tonight where this policy has got them with the number of empty seats at Celtic Park for the Hapoel match.

beckford and girou like the look of puri on youtube against brazil beckford and girou would be good in scotland

Cheers Spanar….Celtic fans have probably had enough of seeing great players on Youtube not quite cutting it week in, week out.

Then again, after John Barnes bought Raphael Scheidt on video footage, can you blame fans for wanting to know as much as they can about a potential new player?
