Reports say Irish striker trained today
News of a player carrying an injury in the days before a Rangers and Celtic match is going to raise the eyebrows of many fans. Some say that it is all part of the mind games of the fixture but you have to remember that the players will be desperate and this could see them overcoming some knocks and niggles and declaring themselves fit.
And of course, the coaching staff will be keen to have their best players available.
Or should we say Keane to have their players fit.
No we shouldn’t because that would be atrocious spelling but you know where we are coming from.
Some of the Friday chat was centred around the fact that Robbie Keane may be an injury doubt for the big match at Ibrox.
Reports today indicate that the Irish captain trained and is looking as though he will be available for selection against Rangers. If he is close to being match fit, the player will know, that is not up for debate.
Celtic really need to win the game and with Keane in the side, they will feel as though they have a better chance of doing so.
The other rumours around the Celtic line-up are suggesting that Jos Hooiveld is unavailable but Glen Loovens could be close to making the starting line-up. As for the Celtic midfield, that could be a trickier one to call although Aiden McGeady will surely come back into the squad.
