Celtic could face Hibs twice in a week

Ross County out to prevent battle of the greens

Celtic have already booked their place in the Hampden semi-final but will not find out who their opponents are until the middle of next week. Most people would think that Hibs will have enough to overcome Ross County in the replay but the Northern side will feel hard done by after not winning the game at Easter Road.

Celtic and Hibs have met twice this season with the honours being even with an away victory for each side.

Celtic won the first clash between the two sides just after they exited the Champions League at the hands of Arsenal.
Celtic turned in one of their most impressive performances of the season. They overcame a Shaun Maloney goal being incorrectly chopped off and being reduced to ten men for a contentious second booking for Aiden McGeady but were still well worthy of their 1-0 victory.

Artur Boruc had a great game at Easter Road (for a change) and the Polish stopper will need to be in form at Hampden if the hoops want to get back to Hampden.

The following game between the two sides took place in January and Hibs shocked Celtic Park with a late 2-1 win. Celtic took the lead early on but a Stokes equaliser had the game level at half-time. Celtic were fairly dominant but in their desire to grab a winner, left themselves open at the back and a counter attack by Hibs saw the away side steal a 2-1 win.

So, all equal so far but there will be another league clash before the Cup semi, and who knows, with the post-split fixtures to be made up, the two sides could be meeting three times in a very short space of time.

Of course, Ross County will be hoping to make this sort of talk null and void by dumping Hibs out on their backside next week.

All reports indicated that Hibs were lucky to hold on but the SPL side will start favourites at Dingwall.

Who do you think Celtic will face at Hampden?
